Can President Obama be defeated in 2012?
WHY OBAMA WILL BE RE-ELECTED IN 2012
Dr. Williams' prediction: Maybe you have read some newspaper articles written by Dr. Williams a conservative economist. He has taught at several Universities and is currently teaching at George Mason University .
No Matter What
By Dr. Walter Williams
Can President Obama be defeated in 2012? No. He can't. I am going on record as saying that President Barak Obama will win a second term. The media won't tell you this because a good election campaign means hundreds of millions (or in Obama's case billions) of dollars to them in advertising.
But the truth is, there simply are no conditions under which Barak Obama can be defeated in 2012. The quality of the Republican candidate doesn't matter. Obama gets reelected. Nine percent unemployment? No problem. Obama will win. Gas prices moving toward five dollars a gallon? He still wins. The economy soars or goes into the gutter. Obama wins. War in the Middle East? He wins a second term.
America's role as the leading Superpower disappears? Hurrah for Barak Obama! The U.S. government rushes toward bankruptcy, the dollar continues to sink on world markets and the price of daily goods and services soars due to inflation fueled by Obama's extraordinary deficit spending? Obama wins handily.
You are crazy Williams. Don't you understand how volatile politics can be when overall economic, government, and world conditions are declining? Sure I do.
And that's why I know Obama will win. The American people are notoriously ignorant of economics. And economics is the key to why Obama should be defeated.
Even when Obama's policies lead the nation to final ruin, the majority of the American people are going to believe the bait-and-switch tactics Obama and his supporters in the media will use to explain why it isn't his fault. After all, things were much worse than understood when he took office.
Obama's reelection is really a very, very simple math problem. Consider the following:
1) Blacks will vote for Obama blindly. Period. Doesn't matter what he does. It's a race thing. He's one of us,
2) College educated women will vote for Obama. Though they will be offended by this, they swoon at his oratory. It's really not more complex than that,
3) Liberals will vote for Obama. He is their great hope,
4) Democrats will vote for Obama. He is the leader of their party and his coat tails will carry them to victory nationwide,
5) Hispanics will vote for Obama. He is the path to citizenship for those who are illegal and Hispanic leaders recognize the political clout they carry in the Democratic Party,
6) Union members will vote overwhelmingly for Obama. He is their key to money and power in business, state and local politics,
7) Big Business will support Obama. They already have. He has almost $1 Billion dollars in his reelection purse gained largely from his connections with Big Business and is gaining more every day. Big Business loves Obama because he gives them access to taxpayer money so long as they support his social and political agenda,
8) The media love him. They may attack the people who work for him, but they love him. After all, to not love him would be racist,
9) Most other minorities and special interest groups will vote for him. Oddly, the overwhelming majority of Jews and Muslims will support him because they won't vote Republican. American Indians will support him. Obviously homosexuals tend to vote Democratic. And lastly,
10) Approximately half of independents will vote for Obama. And he doesn't need anywhere near that number because he has all of the groups previously mentioned. The President will win an overwhelming victory in 2012.

IN ADDITION TO THE VOTING BLOCKS HE MENTIONS, THERE IS ANOTHER HUGE GROUP: THE NEARLY ONE-HALF OF ALL ADULTS DO NOT PAY ANY TAXES AND, IN FACT, MOST OF THEM RECEIVE MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO "SHAKE THE BOAT" TO DO ANYTHING TO STOP THE FLOW OF TAXPAYER MONEY TO THEMSELVES.
It's believed the United States is now somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.
If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's - and they vote - then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.
If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this.
If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom

Obama delays request for $1.2T debt limit hike
President Obama is delaying his request to increase the debt ceiling by another $1.2 trillion, but only temporarily.
"The administration is in discussions with leaders in both houses (of Congress) to determine the best timing for submission of certification and any subsequent votes in the two houses," White House spokesman Joshua Earnest said Friday.
Members of Congress had requested the delay so that lawmakers could register objections when they return to work next month.
Even if the Republican House or the Democratic Senate oppose the requested hike in the debt ceiling, Obama can veto the objection under an agreement reached with Congress in August.
From the Associated Press:
The White House had been ready to ask for the increase Friday because the government is within $100 billion of exhausting its current borrowing authority. Congress would then have 15 days to reject the request, though Obama would veto any objections in order to ensure that the government does not default on its obligations.
But with Congress not due to return to Washington until mid-January, lawmakers asked Obama to delay his request so they would be in session during the 15-day period allowed for objections. ...
A senior White House official said Obama will make his request within days. The Treasury Department will use accounting measures to ensure that the nation does not reach its debt limit before the $1.2 trillion increase is finalized, said the official, who requested anonymity because the person lacked authority to speak publicly.
The debt limit is the amount the government can borrow to finance its operations. It has soared because the government has run record deficits over the past decade. The borrowed money has helped pay for two wars, stimulate the nation's economy after the worst recession since the Great Depression and keep intact broad tax cuts initiated during the Bush administration.
Obama's request to increase the nation's borrowing authority would boost the debt limit to a record $16.4 trillion. The president and Congress agreed to raise it to that level in three steps as part of the August deal that was struck hours before a threatened government default.
Officials say the $1.2 trillion increase should be enough to allow the government to keep borrowing until the end of 2012, or just after the presidential election.
Congress agreed to raise the debt limit by $400 billion in August and by another $500 billion in September. House Republicans voted against the second increase, but failed to block it because the Senate approved it. The increases are scheduled to take effect unless both chambers vote against them.

Matt Damon rips President Obama in Elle magazine
Matt Damon slammed President Obama over his lack of leadership in the new issue of Elle magazine.
Matt Damon doesn't have much goodwill left for President Obama.
The Oscar-award winning actor — who had once been a staunch supporter of the commander-in-chief — is lashing out at the President in a new Elle magazine interview, declaring he needs to grow a pair of cajones.
"I've talked to a lot of people who worked for Obama at the grassroots level. One of them said to me, 'Never again. I will never be fooled again by a politican,'" Damon told the publication. "You know, a one-term president with some balls who actually got stuff done would have been, in the long run of the country, much better."
The "We Bought a Zoo" star also weighed in on the Occupy Wall Street protests, arguing Obama’s lack of leadership has contributed to Americans’ overall discontent with the government.
"If the Democrats think that they didn't have a mandate — people are literally without any focus or leadership, just wandering out into the streets to yell right now because they're pissed off," said Damon, 41. "Just imagine if they had a leader."
It's not the first time Damon — who stumped for Obama in 2008 — has expressed his contempt for the President. But his latest remarks seem to be the most heated to date.
In March, the Harvard University dropout told CNN's Piers Morgan that Obama had misinterpreted his mandate and was deeply disappointed in the President.
President Obama referred to the interview and jabbed Damon back during May's White House Correspondents' Dinner.
"I've even let down my key core constituency: movie stars," the President joked. "Just the other day, Matt Damon — I love Matt Damon, love the guy — Matt Damon said he was disappointed in my performance. Well, Matt, I just saw ‘The Adjustment Bureau,’ so — right back atcha, buddy."

Obama: Full withdrawal from Iraq by Jan. 1
President Barack Obama on Friday declared an end to the Iraq war, announcing that all U.S. troops will be withdrawing from the country by year's end as promised in a deal struck before he took office
All U.S. troops will leave Iraq by Jan. 1, formally ending the war that began more than eight-and-a-half years ago and has taken more than 4,400 American lives, President Obama said today.
"After nearly nine years, America's war in Iraq will be over," Obama said at the White House.
Obama delivered his statement after speaking with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki via a secure video conference.
The war started with a U.S. invasion of Iraq in March 2003 that ousted longtime Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The initial enthusiasm surrounding Hussein's overthrow quickly gave way to fighting between rival ethnic and religious groups and a long guerrilla war against U.S. forces that reached its peak in 2007, when then-president George W. Bush ordered more than 30,000 extra troops for a "surge" that helped turn the tide.
Although the United States has signed an agreement to withdraw all combat troops from Iraq by the end of this year, officials from both countries had discussed maintaining a small U.S. residual force of 3,000 to 5,000 American troops to train Iraqi forces.
The United States has balked at updating the agreement, however, because Iraq has refused to grant American troops legal immunity in Iraqi courts.
Publicly, al-Maliki had remained neutral on whether to ask residual forces to remain behind. But he faced fierce internal political pressure and recently told Obama administration officials that it was impossible for him to win support for immunity for U.S. troops from the Iraqi parliament, the Associated Press reported.
In making the announcement, Obama stressed that the Iraqis are ready for the transition. At the height of sectarian strife that pushed Iraq to the precipice of civil war in 2005-06, there were more than 1,500 security incidents each week. Presently, there are about 100 security incidents per week.
As a presidential candidate in 2008, Obama vowed to end the war. He noted in his remarks to reporters that he was following through with his promise and that it was now time to turn the country's full attention to bolstering the American economy.
"After a decade of war the nation that we need to build and the nation that we will build is our own, an America that sees its economic strength restored just as we've restored our leadership around the globe," Obama said.
There are presently about 40,000 troops in Iraq. The complete withdrawal from Iraq marks a follow-through under a deal brokered between the countries in 2008 by President George W. Bush.
The decision to end the war was applauded by Obama allies.
"The United States is fulfilling our agreement with an Iraqi government that wants to shape its own future," said Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass. "The president is also following through on his commitment to end both the conflict in Iraq and our military presence."
Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich, the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, supported keeping a residual force behind in Iraq, but said the decision to end the U.S. presence was the right one considering the Iraqis refused to give U.S. troops immunity.
"I was prepared to support a continued presence of U.S. trainers in Iraq beyond the end of this year," Levin said. "But in light of Iraq's refusal to eliminate the possibility that U.S. troops would face prosecutions in Iraqi courts, President Obama has made the right decision."
House Speaker John Boehner commended U.S. troops for their sacrifice and credited the Bush administration.
"The continued drawdown of American troops that began under the previous administration wouldn't be possible if not for the hard work and sacrifice of our servicemembers, diplomats and their families.
Some conservatives, however, condemned the decision.
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney questioned the motives behind Obama's decision. "The unavoidable question is whether this decision is the result of a naked political calculation or simply sheer ineptitude in negotiations with the Iraqi government," said Romney, a former Massachusetts governor. "The American people deserve to hear the recommendations that were made by our military commanders in Iraq."
Rep. Michelle Bachmann of Minnesota, a GOP presidential candidate, said the United States was being "ejected" from Iraq and called on the administration to demand the Iraqi government compensate the U.S. government for the cost of liberating the country.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said that all of the U.S. commanders he has spoken with told him that a continued U.S. military presence was needed beyond 2011.
"I am confident that no U.S. commander of any stature who has served in Iraq recommended the course of action that has now been taken," McCain said.
Fred Kagan, one of the architects of the 2006-07 troop surge that helped turn around the war, also warned that Obama risks squandering hard-fought progress and will sharpen neighboring Iran's influence inside Iraq and increase the chances that the Iraqi government will fail.
"It makes a mockery, moreover, of the notion that the United States is somehow isolating Iran and increasing pressure on the Islamic Republic mere days after the revelation of an elaborate Iranian plot to conduct attacks on American soil," Kagan wrote in a blog posting for the American Enterprise Institute. "What sort of sanctions regime can we maintain if Iraq is effectively a free-trade corridor with Iran?"
Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough deflected suggestions that the United States was withdrawing too quickly.
"What the president preferred was for the best relationship for the United States and Iraq going forward," McDonough said. "That's exactly what we have now."
Dating back to his time in the Illinois state Senate, Obama was a tough critic of the war, and his opposition was a central aspect of his campaign for the presidency. But today, he centered his comments on what U.S. troops have achieved and how the Iraqi military and political cultural has grown.
"Over the next two months, our troops in Iraq, tens of thousands of them, will pack up their gear and board convoys for the journey home," Obama said. "The last American soldiers will cross the border out of Iraq with their heads held high, proud of their success and knowing that the American people stand united in our support for our troops."
White House officials downplayed concerns that the Iraqi forces may not be capable of managing the country's security and discounted there will be an uptick in violence as the final U.S. troops leave the country. McDonough stressed it was time to recognize that recognize Iraq is "secure, stable and self-reliant."
Anthony Blinken, national security adviser to Vice President Biden, noted that whenever the U.S. military has reduced its presence — the withdrawal of additional troops sent as part of Bush's 2007 troop surge; U.S. forces exiting Iraqi cities and cutting the American presence to 50,000 servicmembers last year — violence has actually declined.
But the two demurred when asked whether the U.S. sacrifice — more than 4,400 troops killed and nearly $1 trillion in American taxpayer money — was worth it.
"History is going to judge that," Blinken said. "I don't think any of us can say that now."

Religion enters GOP race; Cain gains traction
GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, speaks at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC
Herman Cain is getting plenty of attention less than three months before the first votes are cast in the fight for the Republican presidential nomination.
In the process, the ex-pizza magnate has highlighted the vulnerabilities of Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, who this weekend were dragged into a public debate over Romney's Mormon faith at an annual gathering of social conservatives here.
The Romney-Perry contretemps came after the Rev. Robert Jeffress, pastor of a large Baptist church in Dallas, endorsed and introduced Perry, then later told reporters that evangelicals believed the Mormon faith - which Romney and fellow GOP candidate Jon Huntsman practice - was a "cult." Jeffress further predicted that if nominated by the Republicans, Romney could not beat President Barack Obama, because evangelicals would not support the former Massachusetts governor.
Romney was atop a Quinnipiac University poll of Republicans released Wednesday, but Cain had jumped ahead of Perry. Doubts about the Texas governor have increased after mediocre debate performances and because of objections among conservatives to his positions on immigration and his support of mandatory anti-cancer inoculations of children.
All three, along with Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.; former Rep. Newt Gingrich; former Sen. Rick Santorum; and Rep. Ron Paul spoke to the annual "Values Voters" conference sponsored by the Family Research Council and other conservative groups.
Cain was greeted with enthusiasm. He joked that "Yes We Cain" and proclaimed himself as a fellow social conservative.
"I believe in life from conception, period, no exceptions," he said to sustained applause. "I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman."
The former CEO of Godfather's Pizza said he was the personification of the American Dream - a black man who grew up during Jim Crow but who could not have similarly succeeded in any other country.
"A reporter asked me . . . well, aren't you angry about how America has treated you?" Cain told a crowd of 3,000 at a D.C. hotel. "I said, 'Sir, you don't get it. I have achieved all of my American dreams and them some because of the great nation of the United States of America. What's there to be angry about?"
Cain finished second, to Paul, in a straw ballot conducted during the conference, far outdistancing both Perry, who finished with 8 percent, and Romney, who got just 4 percent. Paul got 37 percent, Cain 23, and Santorum 17.
Asked what it meant to Perry and Romney, who have alternatively led in national polls among Republicans in general, Family Research Council Chairman Tony Perkins said that "there is still work to do" to attract social conservatives.
But Jeffress's controversial endorsement competed with that headline. He told reporters that he believed Romney was a strong family man, but not a Christian, and therefore would have trouble with evangelical voters. Evangelicals vote heavily in states among the first where ballots for the Republican nomination are cast, including Iowa, South Carolina and Florida.
"There are a lot of Christian voters who don't want to appear bigoted, so what they say to pollsters is not necessarily what they will do in the privacy of the voting booth," Jeffress said. "I frankly agree if Gov. Romney is the nominee Barack Obama will be the new president of the United States."
Romney did not directly refer to the issue when he addressed the group Saturday. But he did praise former Education Secretary Bill Bennett, who referred to Jeffress by name and said: "Do not give voice to bigotry."
Bennett complained that Jeffress "stepped on and obscured the words" of seven Republican presidential candidates who addressed the conference.
"You did Rick Perry no good, sir, in what you had to say," Bennett said.
Perry told reporters campaigning in Iowa after his Friday speech that he did not believe Mormonism was a cult.
Paul, who also received a robust reception, said the Perry-Romney dust-up was a distraction.
"Too much government is the issue of the day, not the definition of a cult," he said after his speech.
In his remarks to the group, Perry tried to draw sharper differences with Romney on abortion.
Touching social conservatives' criticism that Romney only hardened his views against abortion when he began running for president, Perry said: "For some candidates, pro-life is an election-year slogan to follow the prevailing political winds. To me it's about the absolute principle that every human being is entitled to life."
Romney responded by telling the conference that "our values must also encompass the life of an unborn child." He acknowledged that "there are, of course, strong convictions on both sides of the life issue. Yet, it speaks well of our country that almost all Americans recognize that abortion is a problem."
He also said that "the blessings of faith carry the responsibility of civil and respectful debate."

Biden brother hospitalized over powder scare
The brother of Vice President Joe Biden says he was hospitalized overnight after a opening a package with an unknown powdery substance.
Francis Biden, 57, who lives in Ocean Ridge, Fla., told The Palm Beach Post that some of the white powder landed on his skin, so he called authorities who evacuated neighbors and closed off the street.
"I was the only one who came in contact with the powder so they kept me," he said. "I'm fine."
Remember that South Florida was one of the sites of the anthrax attacks of a decade ago.
From The Palm Beach Post:
OCEAN RIDGE — The envelope mailed to the Ocean Ridge home of Vice President Joe Biden's younger brother, which contained a suspicious white powder and caused a hazmat emergency Saturday, was apparently mailed from India.
Francis Biden, 57, said the package -- a manila envelope -- was retrieved from his roadside mailbox at about noon by his girlfriend, Mindy. It was addressed to him.
"She retrieved it, but I was the one who opened it," Biden said. "It was mailed from India."
Biden said the moment he opened it a white powder spilled from the envelope and onto his skin. He said he immediately called authorities, who evacuated neighbors from the immediate area and closed off the street for eight hours.
Biden and his girlfriend were taken to Bethesda Hospital. Mindy was released Saturday but Biden stayed overnight.
"I was the only one who came in contact with the powder so they kept me," he said. He was released Sunday morning.
"I'm fine," he said. He praised police, fire rescue and hospital officials.
The FBI announced Saturday that the powder appeared to be harmless.
Biden would not say what else was in the envelope along with the powder and referred questions to the FBI. He said he knew nothing more about the origins of the package.

Pat Boone Birther Rant Accuses President Obama of Million Dollar Cover-Up
Pat Boone is picking up where Donald Trump left off -- going on a videotaped rant ... accusing President Obama of "spending millions" to hide his birth records.
The 77-year-old spewed his take on the birther conspiracy theory to a San Francisco Chronicle camera last weekend.
Not everyday you see septuagenarian, former heartthrobs go off on the President of the United States.

Obama Detroit Labor Day speech to be preceded by Aretha singing
Washington— President Barack Obama's Labor Day address in Detroit will be open to the public and follow entertainment by Aretha Franklin and the Mosaic Youth Theatre, the White House said Thursday.
Obama will be in Detroit to meet "with workers and their families as well as discuss his bipartisan efforts to create jobs and strengthen our economy," the White House said in a statement. His trip to Michigan is scheduled to run just over two hours.
This is Obama's second trip to Detroit as president and first that will be open to the public. Many Michigan members of Congress are expected to attend, including Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit; Reps. Sandy Levin, D-Royal Oak, John Dingell, D-Dearborn, Gary Peters, D-Bloomfield Township and Hansen Clarke, D-Detroit.
Obama will be accompanied by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis. Union presidents, including AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, Teamsters President James P. Hoffa and UAW President Bob King, are also expected to attend.
Obama will tout the turnaround of the domestic U.S. auto industry as he speaks from a General Motors Co. parking lot. As part of a $49.5 billion bailout, the Treasury Department still owns 26.5 percent of GM.
On Labor Day 2008, when he was a senator from Illinois, Obama spoke to tens of thousands of people in Detroit. Obama prompted laughs when he did a shout-out to the Queen of Soul, humming a few bars of Franklin's song "Chain of Fools," warbling "Chain chain chain …" as she beamed from the audience.
Franklin will be singing "Chain of Fools" this time, as well as two other songs.
Obama is not expected to be present for the entertainment, though that could change if his schedule permits. Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have made $15,000 in personal donations to the Mosaic Youth Theatre, which is run by Rick Sperling, the brother of White House National Economic Council director Gene Sperling, who is a Michigan native.
The students at Mosaic Youth Theatre will sing the National Anthem and an arrangement of "I'll Be There."
"This is going to be unbelievable thrill for these kids," said Rick Sperling. Students from the group performed for President Bill Clinton "and they still talk about it today."
Obama's visit is especially meaningful to Detroit students, Sperling noted, as the first African-American president.
Detroit is by far the largest majority African-American city in the United States. According to the 2010 Census, Detroit has 590,226 African-Americans, which represents 83 percent of city residents.
The Labor Day event will take place at the General Motors parking lot next to the Renaissance Center on Atwater Street, between St. Antoine and Beaubien. The event is scheduled to start around 1:15 p.m.
The public can enter at the corner of Rivard and Atwater streets, and the gates will open at 10 a.m.
The White House said all attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, sharp objects, chairs, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed inside the venue.Cameras and cell phones are permitted.
Obama last came to Detroit as president in July 2009 to visit General Motors Co. and Chrysler Group LLC factories, but he had no public events.

President Obama's National Day of Prayer
In 1952, President Truman established one day a year as a
"National Day of Prayer."
In 1988, President Reagan designated the First Thursday in
May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.
In June 2007, Presidential Candidate Barack Obama declared
that the USA "Was no longer a Christian nation."
This year, President Obama canceled the 21st annual National
Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the ruse
Of "not wanting to offend anyone"
BUT... on September 25, 2009 from 4 AM until 7 PM, a National
Day of Prayer FOR THE MUSLIM RELIGION was Held on Capitol Hill,
Beside the White House. There were over 50,000 Muslims in D.C.
that day.
HE PRAYS WITH THE MUSLIMS!
I guess it doesn't matter if "Christians" are offended by
this event. We obviously don't count as "anyone" anymore.
The direction this country is headed should strike fear in
the heart of every Christian, especially knowing that the
Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be
converted, they should be annihilated.
This is not a Rumor. Go to the website to confirm this info:
